Hi,
I'm struggling to find the correct upgrade procedure path to follow in case I wanto to go through XCP-NB upgrade. I need to have the correct steps because the SecOps of the customer asked us to provide the regular update of the software that compose the solution (include XCP-NG and HA-Lizard).
I found the installation manual that I followed several times in the past but I cannot find a cleardocument with the update path to follow. Would it be possible for someone to write it down or send me a link to the doc I cannot find?
Kind regards
Giorgio
Hi Giorgio,
When upgrading dom0 (XCPng), there are 2 methods available for preserving HA-Lizard/iSCSI-HA through the upgrade.
Option 1 - upgrade dom0 (XCPng) with ISO method
This method will completely remove ha-lizard and all of its components and configuration data. This is due to the fact that dom0's entire partition is replaced with a new installation image. We do, however, support this type of upgrade, but you will need to follow the steps in this post to restore all of your ha-lizard configuration files and dependencies. www.halizard.com/forum/software-support/...-0-beta?start=0#1955
This method is more work, but will give you the option of reverting to your prior XCP-ng version if something goes wrong
Option 2 - upgrade XCP-ng via yum
This method is far simpler as all your your ha-lizard settings and dependencies remain intact. I would still encourage you to perform an "ha-cfg backup" before upgrading as this will backup all of you core ha-lizard configuration settings into the XAPI database (ha-lizard, iscsi-ha, lvm and tgt config files)
