Thanks for the update. We are aware that the installer will not work when converting a local SR that is backed by more than one disk. Your method of not selecting /dev/sdb for local SR during the XenServer installation is correct and will work.

Regarding HA-Lizard service not starting.. Perhaps there is no internet connectivity on that host or internet was temporarily down while installing? Can you check whether it was even installed by looking for this directory:
/etc/ha-lizard
