Hello,

I have one pool with two servers, running hanosan, what should be the best steps to do he upgrade for the next xenserver 6.6 later this year?
From what i could read will be big changes about partition layout, from 4gb the size will be 18GB so in my case i wonder if i must do a clean install to the two servers (and have all the vms stop) install halizard again and restore the vms or i'm missing something and exist another way.

Thanks

If the partition layout changes it could affect you. If a rolling update is supported, it could be possible to break replication before starting the upgrade and then migrate machines to the first host after it has upgraded.. it's hard to tell for sure without testing first.

Well for now from the anouncements i think a rolling update will be avaiable.

But if not, what are the corrects steps to do a upgrade?
1 - break replication
2 - move vms to one server
3 - break the pool
4 - reinstall a new version
5 - move vms to server with new version
6 - reinstall new version other server
7 - create the pool
8 - reinstall ha lizard in both servers

Are this the corrects steps?

your suggested steps look correct, but, I would check to ensure that XenServer will not prevent migrating machines from and older version to a newer version after the pool has been broken. We will test this entire scenario once the release is available and we know more about the impact to the current default partitioning.
