I have been proposing the idea of the github to Salvatore, but for one or other reason, we never moved forward and I didn't wanted to create it without his authorization.

Anyway, you should take care about creating users with default passwords (halizard / drazliah).. this user that you are creating will have access by SSH on the server.

in another topic Savlatore wrote "I will look into getting a github repo setup as soon as I'm able." and it's been more than 2 years ago. I'm sure he has other more important matters but unfortunately I find it handy to have the changes up to date. At first I wanted to make a private repository but then I thought it might be useful to others so I set it as public. Plus, in another topic I wrote that I have no problem giving ownership to Salvatore

Yeap... I know, I know !!

I have been with talks with Salvatore about the github repo much long time before.. the last one was on 01/10/2020 (4 years) and he commented that actually Pulse use internal git repo for the code, but it was not public and we (me and him) were very close to migrate it for some external service (github).

But as you have commented, Salvatore was/is busy and didn't had the time to finish it and I have decided to not do without him neither.

Anyway, we (me and my company) have moved forward and like you, we have created a private repo where we put our internal changes and merge the code from the original halizzard code manually (yes, it is crazy and a lot of work). We could have made the same than you and enable a public repo, but we never wanted to do it without Salvatore express authorization.

Nevertheless, don't take my words as a complain or anything bad, only mentioning that IMHO, we should wait for Salvatore (because it is the maintainer of the project) before creating a repo (or anything) with the same name of his project or if you prefer and has the time to maintain it, you could generate a fork from the ha-lizzard with other name and continue improving it (it is GPL in any case).
