Upgrade from Xenserver 6.2 + HAL 1.7.8, to current 6 years 4 months ago #1432

Hello:
We have a couple of 2-node clusters on Xenserver 6.2 and HA-Lizard 1.7.8. The environment is so stable that we haven't needed to do anything with it, but eventually we will need to refresh these hosts. The question is, will we be able to do an in place upgrade to Xenserver 7.2, and HA-Lizard 2.1.3 (latest), for our clusters? Or, what would the upgrade path look like?

I have seen the documentation on upgrading from version to version, but not to this extent.
I appreciate the help and feedback.

This can be done, however, xs 7.x uses a different disk layout that you would not be able to use when upgrading from 6.x, leaving you with the old style 4gb partition for dom0.

If at all possible, you may be better off
- backing up your vms
- Migrate vms to a spare standalone host
- rebuild the old pool from scratch
