Hi, I was wondering if there is any special documentation to convert two standalone Xen6.2 servers with 30 VMs running each, to a pool of two servers and then implement ha-lizard?
My googling only returns implementing a pool from scratch.

thanks,

We don't have any specific documentation for doing that. Can each of the hosts carry the full VM load individuallly (i.e. run all 60 VMs)? HA wont help you unless you have enough resources to carry the full load in the event of a host faulure.

Hi, so sorry I forgot to mention it. But yes each host has the capability to run all the workloads and then some more.

Are the VM images stored on a SAN or are you using local storage within each host?

Hosts share same hardware specs. Are connected to the same SAN (storevirtual from hp) via iscsi. interface speed is at 1gbps.

You may be able to first move all the VMs from one host to the other, leaving a host with NO VMs at all. Then join that host to the pool of the other host.

There may be a better way though. This is more of a xenserver issue. Consider posting your question on xenserver.org support forum..
