XenServer 6.5 Pauses at Boot 8 years 2 months ago #679

Hi,

I have a HA-Lizard Server Pair about to go into production.

When I boot the XenServers, they pause for approximately 15 minutes, they are stuck at showing several errors:

Unable to access resume device (/var/swap/swap.001)
raidautorun: failed to open /dev/md0: No such device or address
The last line it outputs is "Running interface-rename"

After about 15 mins sitting at this screen, XenServer boots as normal and the HA-Lizard iSCSI SR is functioning correctly.

The same error messages show when booting the Primary and Slave XenServers.

Can anyone help? I'm onsite at the data centre today and tomorrow hoping to put this system live - but these XenServer errors worry me...

I've attached a screenshot (just blanking out the hostname) if this helps. This is XenServer 6.5, fully patched.

Best regards,

Adam

We have seen interface-rename take several minutes to run on boot, but never as long as 15 minutes. You may want to post your question on the citrix forum too as this is more of a xenserver question.

Thanks, I have posted with citrix too

It's actually about 6 minutes - I timed it properly, is this more like the pauses you've seen?

Regards,

Adam

Yes - I've seen close to that. Enough to get my attention.
Just tried to reproduce it on a DL360 G5 and there was no delay whatsoever..
