Hello,

first i have to admit that i'am not an IT-Pro.
The last time i set up a server was in 2003. ;)
Anyway, i'am looking for a amall scale HA solution to set up databases for 3 different Applications who are supposed to work 24/7.
My first intention was to use WS2012 with Hyper-V & Failover together with Starwind or Datacore to emulate the iSCSI-SAN.
Then i stumbled over XEN/HA-Lizard.
Now i have two Octa-Core Xeon-Servers with Xen-Server 6.2 running on two HDD-Raid 1 and a four HDD-Raid 5 supposed to become my HA-iSCSI SAN.
I have a third, tiny, server running WS2012 with installed XEN-Center 6.2, providing DC / DNS / NTP.
Unfortunately i encountered a, possible small, problem configuring my two servers for ha-lizard.
I performed all the steps up to the beginning of page 17 in the iscsi-ha_node_cluster_howto_1.4_final.pdf.
When i try to execute the commands "drbdadm syncer iscsi1" & "drbdadm connect iscsi1" i become the following errormsg. in return: "/etc/drbd.conf:15: in resource iscsi1, on Xen1: IP 10.10.10.1 not found on this host".
If i ping the 10.10.10.1/2 from the Servers i get immediate returns and it looks fine to me....
I think i just overlooked something.

Any kind of help is very much appreciated. ;)

Thx

Sounds like the required firewall changes may not have been configured. You can verify this by temporarily disabling the firewall on both XenServer hosts with "service iptables stop".

If that solves your problem, check your firewall configuration against the documentation for any error or typos.

Ahoj and thx for the reply!

Like i guessed it, i just overlooked something.
The automaticaly assigned IP´s to the bounded Adapters did not fit.
10.10.10.1 was allocated to Host 2 and vice versa.

Issue is solved and the thread can be closed.

Thx :silly:
