1.3.8 iSCSI Login failed, verify CHAP credentials 9 years 2 months ago #362

I appear to have everything correctly set up (at least no errors during install), but cannot find the default CHAP credentials in any of the documentations.

I'm currently testing 1.3.8 on XenServer 6.5. I've accepted the default options.

I have tried the root account / password, as well as that of a pre-existing non-root user.

Any help is appreciated.

If you have followed our how-to document for building a 2-node HA cluster, then we do not use CHAP security when configuring the iSCSI target. You should leave the "Use CHAP" checkbox unchecked when creating the iSCSI SR within XenCenter.

One more thing.. We dont have a public release of 1.3.8. Which SW version are your referring to?

If you are building against XS 6.5, our latest releases are not yet posted on our web site. You will need version 1.5.3 of iscsi-ha to provide pre-compiled DRBD tools. You can grab it from here:
halizard.org/release/iscsi-ha/iscsi-ha-1.5.3.tgz

Thanks for the followup!

I'm using the build posted here: halizard.org/release/noSAN-combined/hali...osan_installer_1.3.8

That was from a thread here: halizard.com/forum/general-discussion/62-xenserver-6-5

I'm not checking a CHAP option, I'm running a host scan in XenCenter while adding a new SR (iSCSI) and it's coming back w/ that error.

Last edit: by Joe Foran. Reason: Forgot to include thread I got the build from

The CHAP Username and Password fields should be left empty (as in the attached screenshot). Have you tried leaving the fields empty?

Same here there is no way to create new SR.

It allways ask for chap credentials even if chap checkbox is empty.
