Hello,
i'm planning two HP DL-350 with four ethernet port in two different building connected by two gigabit fiber channel with ethernet converter. One channel is dedicated, the other shared. In the guide is specified the need of direct connection with crossover cables. I need some clarifications : it is a must? And why? Perhaps for latency of switch or for bond monitoring? And so i can resolve with managed switch?
Thanks a lot

The requirement for direct attachment of the replication interfaces is not mandatory. Direct attachment is less likely to experience networking failures since there are no network devices interconnecting the hosts. The scenario you describe in your question should work fine, but may be more susceptible to networking issues on the replication network.
