Mismatched Virtual IP 8 years 2 months ago #671

I have configured 2 hosts and have implemented some production systems on the primary. During a recent power outage, VMs did not migrate. I realized after going over the configuration that the primary has a virtual IP that is 10.0.10.12 and the secondary is using 10.0.11.12 both are /24.

In Xen the HA networks are set up to use the 10.0.11.x/24 network.

Does anyone have recommendations on how to update the hosts to ensure I do not lose configured storage.

Thank you for your help,
Patrick

please provide specific IPs for the interfaces to better clarify your network setup:

Master management IP/subnet
Master replication IP/subnet
Slave management IP/subnet
Slave replication IP/subnet
floating (virtual ip)

OK. it looks like just the virtual IP is out of place. Since xenserver has already connected to this IP as its iscsi SR - it may be easier to leave it alone and instead change the replication IPs which would be transparent to xenserver. The replication IPs would have to move to the same subnet as the floating IP.

You would need to change the IPs in 2 places:

- xenserver Ethernet port configuration (via xencenter)
- /etc/drbd.conf
