So I'm doing some more research as it appears we're pulling the trigger on a project in the coming weeks.

I specifically had a question regarding how I create the ISCSI target on each of my 2 Host so I can configure the HA-ISCSI to 2 host HA.

I'm comfortable configuring the array for local VM storage, but I've yet to ever configure an ISCSI target out of that array.

Another question is why with the most current download from the site here, does the target iqn have 2008-09 while the documentation list 2013-05.

Does it matter?

I have ha-lizard 1.8.8 and iscsi-ha 1.5.6 the documentation recommends 1.6.41.4 and 1.2 or newer respectively.

Hi
See answers to your questions inline below:

I specifically had a question regarding how I create the ISCSI target on each of my 2 Host so I can configure the HA-ISCSI to 2 host HA.

To create the iSCSI target, install TGT and then edit targets.conf. The steps are documented in our reference design (how to guide) available here.
halizard.com/images/pdf/iscsi-ha%202-nod...0howto_1.5_final.pdf
FYI: All the required steps are documented in this guide which is intended walk a user through manually building the cluster. The easier approach is to download our installer script which will complete the entire installation for you.

Another question is why with the most current download from the site here, does the target iqn have 2008-09 while the documentation list 2013-05.

The target iqn in your image is from the default (sample) TGT configuration file. It is not part of HA-Lizard. The name does not matter either. Our configuration will require that you create an iqn in a similar manner. Details are in the above referenced doc.

I have ha-lizard 1.8.8 and iscsi-ha 1.5.6 the documentation recommends 1.6.41.4 and 1.2 or newer respectively.

You have the correct versions (1.8.8 and 1.5.6 are the latest)

As an aside - if you have not viewed our installation video, you may want to take a look. There are basically 2 ways to build the cluster:

1- the hard way is to follow the guide step by step manually.
2- the easy way is to use our installer which will install and completely configure ha-lizard, iscsi-ha, drbd, tgt. The youtube video is based on the automated installer.

If you start with 2 fresh xenserver hosts, running the installer should take about a minute per host, leaving you with a working HA cluster.

I must not be seeing the link for the installer script.

Can you give me a pointer.
Thanks

Here you go:
halizard.com/ha-lizard-software/ha-lizard-nosan-installer

There are a few prerequisites required before running the script:

1- join the 2 hosts to a pool before running the installer
2- create the replication network on the 2 hosts and directly attach the Ethernet ports. If you want to keep it simple, make the replication port on host A 10.10.10.1 and host B 10.10.10.2 - this will match the defaults used by the installer.
3- When installing xenserver - you will be prompted for which backing disks to use used for local storage. Make sure to select only one disk as our installer will not support multiple backing disks (you can add more SRs after the installation if required)
