Problem Converting Local Storage to iSCSI 7 years 4 months ago #1069

Hi,

I have to XenServer 7.0 hosts in a pool. I've been following the youtube video on how to install HA-Lizard, but run into a problem when I get to the storage conversion part.

Firstly, the local storage isn't detected, so I have to enter the path manually. Not too much of a problem, but then it says "Exclusive open failed." and I cannot convert it.

The local storage is a 4 x 1TB RAID10 volume on an HP Smart Array P410i, using Ext3.

I'm trying to install version 2.1.0 of HA-Lizard. Any help appreciated.

Thanks

The device is likely being held open by something. Probably LVM.

How would I go about finding out what that could be?

I had unplugged the local storage, and ran sr-forget to remove it from XenCenter.

Does it matter that the local storage is Ext3?

I believe my multiple attempts to install ha-lizard has broken xapi on my hosts. I can no longer connect XenCenter to the pool master, and the slave cannot get any info from it such as VMs available etc.

Well, I'm trying again today with a fresh installation of XenServer 7.0 on two hosts. This time I didn't choose to create a volume on my local storage at all, so hopefully ha-lizard won't have any problems isolating the drive. Wish me luck!
