So the plan is to purchase two servers all with local storage on each host, and then setup each server in separate closets.

I believe the HA Lizard client that should be used in this scenario is the would be the NO San client.

So I have a few questions, first is this the correct assumption on which HALizard to use?

Second, what is the recommended method of connecting the servers together across 2 copper switches at 1Gps?

The third question is do I want to connect the servers together before installing the HALizard NoSAN client? Or should I install the NoSAN client on the two hosts first, and then move the servers into place on the rack and connect them together?

Also is there a recommended number of NIC's to direct connect from each server for HA? I would assume 2 ports per server.

See responses inline below. Also, consider watching the installation video which provides detailed step by step instructions for building a 2 node pool.

If you are building by hand (following our reference design document) then you will need HA-Lizard AND iSCSI-HA to build 2-node HA-Pool.

If you choose the simpler route using our installer (noSAN installer), the installer will build the entire cluster for you and install/configure HA-Lizard and iSCSI-HA

Second, what is the recommended method of connecting the servers together across 2 copper switches at 1Gps?

It is recommended not to use any switches at all to interconnect the HA/Replication interfaces. A pair of bonded Ethernet ports directly attaching the servers is ideal.

Yes - the servers should be connected during the installation. After installation the storage will take a while to sync for the first time. I would wait until the initial sync is completed before moving the servers.

Correct,a bond with 2 ports

Is there a preferred bond method for the two nics?

Active Passive, Active Active, Active Backup?

Thank you for confirming, I was thinking Active/Passive was the way to go with it.

Hopefully this will be the last question.

In the documentation is says to create 2 arrays of 10 of Disk 1+2 and Disk 3+4.

Is this still the case if XenServer is installed to USB, 8 Disks in each server?

How does this effect the total storage of the systems?
